In response to the state of Atlanta's public schools, the Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta has created a new initiative - Parent Leaders United for Students (PLUS).  PLUS seeks to include parent voice to help empower public schools to provide excellence in education for students.

By encouraging and facilitating parent engagement in schools and school systems, the Community Foundation hopes to increase positive student outcomes and add a critical component to transforming school systems.

PLUS grants are available in the amount of $250 - $1,000 to help parents transform "ideas into action" and applications are being accepted through February 2017 to fund events, trainings, festivals, parent engagement programs, mentoring programs and communication vehicles that encourage and increase school and system-wide parent participation.
