The Georgia Power Foundation - the charitable giving vehicle for Georgia Power, receives on-going applications for charitable support up to $25,000. The Foundation supports organizations and programs located throughout the state of Georgia, or programs that serve Georgia residents. The grants support 5 areas of focus:
  • health and human services*
  • education improvement
  • environmental stewardship
  • arts and culture
  • civic and community outreach
Nonprofit organizations and government agencies may apply for support, but the Foundation does not fund individuals, private schools, religious organizations or political campaigns/causes.
Applicants may apply for grants over $25,000, which must be voted on by the Foundation board in May, August and December. Organizations may receive grants once per year, but may reapply annually.

*Health and human services programs are largely supported by the Foundation through the United Way and Salvation Army programs.
