![]() The Project Athena Foundation is a non-profit foundation helping women survivors of medical or other traumatic setbacks achieve their dreams. Named after the Greek Goddess of Wisdom and War, Athenas are women who are ready to not only survive, but thrive after enduring medical issues and other trauma. Project Athena grants provide travel expenses, coaching, equipment, and most importantly, the encouragement and inspiration needed to help women transition from Survivor to Athlete. The grant currently covers one of six yearly adventures that provide mental and physical challenges in a non-competitive environment. These adventures help survivors have something to look forward to and a goal to accomplish. A medical or traumatic set back can be defined as, but is not limited to the follow:
