![]() The Chicago-based Harpo Foundation was established in 2006 to support emerging visual artists. The foundation seeks to stimulate creative inquiry and to encourage new modes of thinking about art. The foundation's Emerging Artist Fellowship at the Santa Fe Art Institute was created to provide an opportunity for an emerging visual artist (age 25 or older) who needs time and space to explore an idea or start a new project. Fellows will receive a one-month residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute in New Mexico that includes accommodations and travel stipend. The Santa Fe Art Institute (SFAI) supports over 50 residents per year and offers a cohesive, arts-focused environment . The unique space allows residents to be as interactive or private as they prefer. There are no requirements on the work produced during their time at SFAI. Self-defined under-recognized visual artists who are not currently enrolled in a degree program may submit proposals on their own behalf. Interested artists should apply online by Monday, October 1, 2018. Contact Residency Program Manager Toni Gentilli at (505) 424-5050 or gro.iafs@illitnegt at the Santa Fe Art Institute.
